Judas accepting 30 pieces of silver

Description

This is a painting I have done of perhaps one of the most famous traiters in history, his name: Judas Iscariet, the traitor. He is known for betrayal of Christ giving him to the romance in exchange for just thrirty pieces of silver, a dispicable price, and to think, he was one of the twelve disciples!

This piece informs also perhaps, my view of the many traitors who came after him, I wonder, were they ever inspired by him, and by the magnitude of his trechery? Or did they come to their tratorous ways "independently," serving to mirror his tratorous work, but without willful emulation? Or, perhaps they just saw him as part of the "family of the mutinous" who have no rankings and no admiration for each other, because for them there are no laws.

I don't believe any of that to be honest. The Gospels are a Jewish story picked up and written down by Greeks, under Roman rule. Do your math.. Great painting though!
