Description

Over time, the Spires of Shadow were lost -- For if a place in the Gutterscape is not visited for many years, the land itself may forget it, and it will be difficult to see or find, as if it exists only dimly, and remotely. Epikroadis became a legend. Even though Queen Glory's edict had forbidden her subjects from stepping upon those lands, there were many prodigals who hoped to cemment their heroic reputations on finding and slaying the beast Epikroadis. Many heros and would-be heros searched for him, to find his whereabouts.

One such hero, Bandibraff, a soldier of of the Unsounded Hills went searching for the Spires of Shadow. He had with him a sword that glowed blue and pink, that could "smell" agitated hearts. It was with this sword that he plotted his path to the spitres, and he kept careful maps of where it led him. It led him one night to a villiage called Gilm on the River, where he was given fire and lodging by a prodigal named Hazzber, who had settled there and had several sons. Around the blue fire (a secret of Hazzbers -- He owned an artifact that allowed him to create such flames. The Mirror of Dodrien), Bandibriff told many tales to Hazzber and his sons. He bosted of his many miliatary victories, and of the monsters he had slain. He told them the tale of Epikrodis, and of his plan to find him and slay him. Bandibraff showed his hosts the map he had made -- A map of every place he had visited, and of where he was going to go next.

Hazzber's youngest son, Babtar, was deeply troubled by this. He worried that as dangerous as Epikroadis had been described, perhaps it was not wise to disturb his territory. Babtar decided to learn everything he could about Epikroadis, so that he could know how to stay safe from this enemy, if he should come away from his territory and "go on a rampage."

Such horrors hide in the Gutterscape...but I am interested to see where this story leads.
